Which Stairlift?

Halton Stairlifts offers a wide range of new and reconditioned stairlifts. Stairlift rails are fitted to your stairs, not your walls, so there is little disruption to your décor. There are several styles of seats and two basic track types – straight or curved.

Straight rails are suitable for simple ‘straight’ flights of stairs. Curved rails will be needed where there is a bend in the staircase or a half landing or turn. Our engineers will be able to advise you of the most suitable design for your home after the free initial survey visit.

We are able to source a wide range of makes and models, including well-known brands such as Stannah and Acorn. All our stairlifts are manufactured in the UK to approved British Standards.

Prices for Straight Stairlifts start at £1,395 (new) and £995 (reconditioned).

Prices for Curved Stairlifts start at £2,900 (new) and £3,400 (reconditioned).

All prices include fitting and full warranty.

Easy Installation Process

Your complete satisfaction is our top priority

Step One: Free initial survey, no obligation
One of our highly trained engineers will visit you in your own home to discuss your requirements and carry out a thorough, detailed assessment of your stairs, using the latest digital survey equipment for curved staircases. They will then discuss available options, such as choice of seat, rail design and special safety features.

Once you have decided on your required make and model, we will give you a free, fixed written quotation. There will be no hidden costs and all our warranty packages are included in the price.

Step Two Installation
Once you have decided you are happy with the quotation and wish to proceed, we will source all the appropriate equipment, either new or reconditioned, according to your order. All our rails are custom-made to fit the exact dimensions of your staircase. We will call you to discuss a convenient fitting day and then send along our highly trained engineers to install your new stairlift. Stairlift rails are fitted to the stairs and not the wall, ensuring a minimum of fuss and inconvenience. The installation process is completed with a rigorous safety check and a short training session in the operation of your new stairlift. The whole process from start to finish should only take a few hours. We do a thorough clean of any mess and won’t leave until you are absolutely happy with the controls.

Aftercare
We offer a 24 hour emergency call out service, so you never need to worry about break downs or problems. Call 0800 6447766 (local rate).

Useful Information

A stairlift is a major purchase and choosing the right make and model for you and your home is vitally important. Below you will find some useful tips to help you make the right decision.

  • If you know anyone with a stairlift, ask about their experience, what they like and whether they would change anything.
  • The British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) has produced an independent guide to buying a stairlift. Call them on 0207 702 2141 for your free printed copy or visit the BHTA website to download.
  • The initial quotation from Halton Stairlift is absolutely free and there is no obligation to buy.
  • If we have an appropriate model in stock, installation can be completed within a few days. If your chosen model has to be ordered, it may take slightly longer but rest assured we will install your stairlift as quickly as possible.
  • Installation is quick and easy and can be completed within a few hours. All our highly trained engineers are courteous and respectful. We will ensure all mess is removed and your home is left clean and tidy.
  • All our stairlifts are attached to the tread of the stairs, not the wall, so your décor will not be damaged.
  • If you have a narrow or awkward staircase, we carry a range of slimline models and features to accommodate most layouts. If we think it is impossible to install a stairlift in your home, we will tell you. There is absolutely no pressure selling.

Are you eligible for a grant?

You may be eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant. Your local council will be able to advise you. If you are, the council will help towards the cost of installing your stairlift and adapting your home.
