The world feels like it’s at a standstill for many people due to COVID-19. And those who are struggling to get around as they stay at home, need support more than ever. Halton Stairlifts are still providing stairlift installation during coronavirus lockdown to help those finding the stairs difficult and those who are seeking discharge from hospital.
Because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we’ve changed some of our processes in line with NHS recommendations on how to stop infection spreading. These processes will make things safer for you and our employees.
Are you still offering stairlift installation during coronavirus lockdown?
Our stairlift engineers are still installing stairlifts across the UK during the coronavirus lockdown. We’re doing things a little differently for your protection, and to protect our staff, but you can still expect exceptional customer service and quality stairlifts from us as usual.
Here’s a little round up of the ways we are helping to keep our customers and engineers safe:
Virtual Stairlift Surveys
Halton Stairlifts are offering virtual stairlift surveys to our customers. This means we can avoid visiting your home during the assessment phase. For a successful virtual survey, we will need the following:
- Measurements of your staircase using our stairlift measuring guide
- A phone consultation with our team to discuss your stairlift needs and requirements
- We might also ask for photographs or your stairs, hallway and landing
Once we’ve gathered this information, we can put together some stairlift model recommendations along with our lowest price stairlift quotes. You’re then free to decide whether you wish to go ahead with your stairlift purchase. If you do want to buy a stairlift from us, we can usually make arrangements for installing your stairlift at your convenience.
At our headquarters, we’re operating under social distancing advice. Staff around the office and workshop are maintaining a distance of at least 2m between them. Our social distancing measures also continue once we leave the building. If your installation requires more than one fitter, our engineers have been asked to drive separately to your address. Once inside your property, they will adhere to the 2m rule as much as possible, and you will be able to stay separate from them in another room as the stairlift installation is carried out. We’ll try to limit the amount of time spent in your home as much as possible too.
Our staff and engineers have been provided with personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes disposable facemasks and vinyl gloves. Our engineers are required to wear their PPE on arrival at your home and during the installation. They have been asked to not reuse PPE equipment once worn.
We’re already a tidy bunch, but our hygiene measures have increased significantly since the arrival of the coronavirus was announced in the UK. Every member of the team is washing their hands regularly, thanks to reminders posted around our sites. We’re also wiping down equipment we use regularly like phones, pens, and touch-points in our vehicles. Our engineers will also apply hand sanitiser at regular intervals.
Our stairlifts are also cleaned before dispatch and then cleaned again once installation is complete.
Stairlift Advice Over the Phone
You can always reach us over the phone to ask any questions about your stairlift on 0800 644 7766. You can also call us 24-hours a day if you’re experiencing problems with your stairlift. We will answer questions and try to resolve problems by phonecall, but if we need to attend your property we will carry out all infection control procedures as detailed above.
